About Frontlist
India's definitive platform for the world of books, authors, and publishing.
Why Reading Matters
There is a reason a good book can make the world feel quieter. Research has consistently shown that reading for as little as six minutes a day can reduce stress levels by up to 68% - more effectively than a walk, a cup of tea, or listening to music. Reading slows the heart, eases muscle tension, and draws the mind into a world just far enough removed from daily pressures to give it room to breathe.
Beyond stress relief, reading builds empathy, sharpens focus, and has been linked to reduced cognitive decline in later life. It is one of the oldest, most democratic, and most powerful tools for mental well-being that humans have ever had - and it fits in your pocket.
At Frontlist, we believe that a reading nation is a healthier, more empathetic, and more thoughtful nation. Everything we do - every interview published, every book reviewed, every author profiled, every festival organised - is rooted in a single conviction: that connecting people to books changes lives.

PragatiE Vichaar Literature Festival (PVLF)
PVLF - the PragatiE Vichaar Literature Festival - is Frontlist's flagship event and one of India's most distinctive literary celebrations. Now in its sixth year, PVLF has grown from a bold idea into a nationally recognised platform for literary excellence, debut voices, and open intellectual dialogue.
Since its founding in 2020 at the first virtual Delhi Book Fair, PVLF has brought together over 1000 authors, generated more than a million conversations, and given hundreds of debut writers the stage they deserved. Co-organised with the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP) and dedicated to free speech, dialogue, and the promotion of Indian literature, each edition pushes the boundaries of what a literature festival can be.
PVLF 2026 has concluded - another landmark edition in the festival's growing legacy. The announcement for PVLF 2027 is coming soon. Follow Frontlist and visit frontlist.in/pvlf to be the first to know.
Under the theme Creating Resilience Through Storytelling, PVLF 2025 explored how narratives inspire strength and drive change. The festival continued its tradition of honouring debut voices alongside established authors, with sessions spanning fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children's literature, and literary criticism.
PVLF 2024 was the festival's largest edition yet - over 100 authors across more than 15 themes, 400+ entries for the Author Excellence Awards, and more than 3.5 lakh votes cast by readers across India. Award categories expanded to include regional Indian languages, making it the most inclusive edition to date.
PVLF 2023 expanded the festival's physical footprint, bringing together authors, publishers, and readers in Delhi for a full day of sessions, panel discussions, and award ceremonies. The PragatiE Vichaar Poetry Festival (PVPF) was introduced as a dedicated celebration of Indian poetry.
Held as a 24-Hour Author Marathon, PVLF 2022 featured 48 authors in 30-minute slots and introduced the PVLF Excellence Awards - the only data-driven, Nielsen BookScan-powered publishing awards in India. The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
